Alex graduated Cum Laude from the Merchant Marine Academy in 1997 and brings more than 25 years of active-duty leadership experience in the United States Coast Guard and Federal contracting industry. During his career, Alex was instrumental in leading strategic policy, programming, and resource management functions supporting the over 7,000 geographically dispersed members of the Coast Guard Reserve.

Trusted by senior leaders in government and private-industry, Alex is highly skilled in directing the development and management of complex business analytic systems, organizational governance, and human capital planning and development to support global operations. He also drove development of an innovative, multi-layered strategic communication program leveraging traditional and social media tools to proactively meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

Alex has filled numerous strategic and tactical resource roles including travel management, training, and operations for the United States Coast Guard and United States Marine Corps. As a field manager, he oversaw policy compliance, planning, and execution of multi-million dollar training and travel budget and oversaw the training and readiness of the Coast Guard's only dedicated surge support infrastructure capable of responding to myriad contingencies within 48 hours.

In managing travel, Alex was responsible for reviewing itineraries and claims for compliance, completion, and accuracy at the individual level, and for directing the use of contracted lodging at an enterprise level to maximize the value of limited resources.
